Volunteers Help John 3:16 Centers Better Serve the Local Community | News


The community has partnered with John 3:16 Centers to connect with families in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding counties, including Warren.

Last year’s volunteers participated in School Supply Drives, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Harvest of Blessings and Community Partnership Saturday Sales. The success of the Christmas outreach held at two locations is due to the help of a team of community volunteers as well as assistance from the Roanoke Rapids Police and Fire Department and the County Sheriff’s Office. ‘Halifax. Their help made it possible to serve 488 families in the community.

The John 3:16 Resource Center opened in August and welcomes clients three days a week. The Center continues to reserve two days a week to receive families by appointment. The center is open to the public for shopping on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On the first Saturday of the month, the Community Partner Bag Sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The partner organization receives half of the proceeds from the sale. Volunteers are also needed on a daily basis to sort donations and stock the shelves. Individuals and nonprofit organizations interested in volunteering can call 252-541-2420.

The Littleton location welcomes volunteers to help with the Wired for Success after-school program. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 252-586-1800.
