The special foodie event on Thursday, May 26 will see a number of named “community heroes” invited to enjoy a feast prepared by culinary students from the college.
The evening menu will also feature local produce and the event was designed as a thank you to the community for supporting the development of the new college on Cornagrade Road.
“This has been a truly momentous year for South West College in Enniskillen with the long-awaited opening of our new Erne campus,” said Campus Manager Carol Viney.
“The reaction to the building from our staff, students and the local community has been overwhelming.
“Over the past few months, as COVID restrictions have been eased, we have been able to open the doors to our on-site Erne Restaurant and this very special evening will give us the opportunity to honor and thank those who have truly stepped up the plate in many different ways since the start of the COVID pandemic.
Carol added that many people could be considered for recognition from healthcare professionals in our hospitals and medical centers, front-line retail workers, delivery service personnel, transportation providers, teachers or even family members and neighbors who have gone out of their way to support loved ones or members of the wider community.
Applications can be submitted via an online form on the South West College website or by email [email protected] with the subject “Community Hero Nomination”, with the closing date for applications Wednesday, May 18.
