PwC ‘gives back’ to local community through annual tournament

34 teams help raise £7,000 for charity

Thirty-four teams from businesses and organizations across the island helped raise £7,000 for the Children’s Centre.

The annual corporate fundraiser, sponsored by PwC Isle of Man, saw 340 people compete in a tournament rounder.

It was won by the “One Hit Wonders” team – the sponsor’s team taking second place.

PwC, which has sponsored the event for five years, covers the organizational costs, which means that all proceeds raised will go directly to support children, young people and families.

The money raised will be used to support children struggling with behavioral, learning or emotional well-being problems.

Paul Jones, Head of Corporate Responsibility at PwC, said: “The Children’s Center is an invaluable local resource and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to sponsor another year.

“Although this is our fifth year as a sponsor, it was the first time a PwC team had come so close to winning!

“Having a positive impact in the world is important to us and the rounders tournament is a great opportunity for our team to give back to the local community.”
