Police officers from Leek donated to a community center in Moorlands in time for Christmas.
Officers from the Staffordshire Moorlands Neighborhood Police Team (NPT) visited the Haregate Community Center, based on Queens Drive in Leek on Monday, December 20 to present them with gifts including furniture, kitchen appliances and tools.
The items have since been distributed to people in need in the community.
The center, a community-run building, offers a number of friendship, support and wellness groups that local residents can attend on a weekly basis.
PCSO Simon Long, from Moorlands NPT, said: “Many people have faced financial hardships and uncertainties this year, and so this Christmas we wanted to continue doing all we could to help those in need. .
“We hope this will make people smile and remind them that they are taken care of, no matter what their situation.”
Laura Cottingham, Director of the Haregate Community Center, said: “Many families we have heard from at the center say they have really struggled financially and have been put under even more pressure with spending this period of time. the year.
“We are so grateful that the local agents took the time to visit us and donate the gifts that will make a huge difference to the families and groups that visit our center.
