Flywheel Foundation Announces Holly Sloop as Program Manager | Local News



CONCORD – The Flywheel Foundation today announced the selection of Holly Sloop as Program Manager.

Holly Sloop joins the Flywheel Foundation with over ten years of community development experience working with local small businesses in government and non-profit settings.

Holly is from Cabarrus County and graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in communications. She received training from the NC Main Street and Rural Planning Center to facilitate the Main Street program for downtown Concord, providing programs and events to support economic development. Holly has extensive experience in event management, marketing and community outreach.

“The Flywheel Foundation has been fortunate to have a number of outstanding candidates for the position of Program Manager,” said Executive Director Jill Atherton.

Holly will manage several programs at the Cabarrus Center, including Retail Lab and the VMS program. Retail Lab was created at the Cabarrus Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship through a partnership between the Flywheel Foundation and the Small Business Center at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

This program is aimed at early-stage and pre-launch retail business owners in Cabarrus and Rowan counties by offering an immersive six-week app-based Boot Camp, followed by an opportunity to new retailers to test their concept in the Cabarrus Center retail lab. Pop Up Store for six months.

Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) is Cabarrus Center’s first program that connects business founders with exceptional consulting services. This program has been refined for over 20 years at MIT and is licensed to over 100 communities worldwide. It allows seasoned professionals to mentor our next generation of entrepreneurs and stimulate the economic development of our region.

In addition, the Foundation administers the New Ventures accelerator programs and has designed events such as Flywheel Café, Pitch-Space Live, Tech Slam ‘N Eggs, Jumpstart, and Indeavor, all of which benefit Flywheel members and regularly bring together various founders, investors and community leaders.
