So, who is responsible for opening this new dining venue in Central?

James Steele is the owner of Steele’s Snack Shack and also a deputy in the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

When asked why Steele opened Steele’s Snack Shack, the EBRSO deputy said he loved “being with people in the community and this type of business allows me to do that even more than my usual job.

Steele wanted to provide a food option that didn’t require local residents to go to the center of Central or Zachary.

It didn’t take long to open Steele’s Snack Shack as the location was already an established snowball stand that Steele was able to purchase.
