Circuit State 4A: Fenderson wins first Ravens State title

LAKEWOOD – Riverdale Ridge’s Braylen Fenderson carved his name in the school’s record books on June 26.

He became the school’s first individual state champion by winning the 100-meter title.

Fenderson, a senior, clocked 10.96 seconds in the final to edge Justin Blanton of Grand Junction Central by 0.04 seconds. Fenderson entered state competition as a seed in the 100 and 200-meter.

The final day of the state track and field competition was something for Frederick’s Ryan Chacon.
