Camberley installs life-saving defibrillators for the local community

Collectively, Camberley Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to announce the installation of two new 24/7 public access defibrillators in Camberley, Surrey.

This rescue equipment was installed at two separate locations, on either side of the city centre. One is now located on Park Street outside the Bear Pub and the other on High Street outside Carers With Care.

The new defibrillators fill the gaps in high-traffic areas where 24-hour public access was previously unavailable. This means that at all times, the public is never too far from this life-saving equipment.

This project is part of Collectively Camberley’s business plan aim to ‘keep it safe and welcoming’ and is part of a larger number of initiatives to support the local community and businesses .

The Park Street Defibrillator is sponsored by Collectively Camberley on behalf of all BID businesses in the city centre. The equipment is supported by a local independent company, The Bear.

Andrew Sully, owner of The Bear, supports the cause close to his heart. He said; “We are happy to be able to support this initiative. When we opened in 2012, a friend of ours painted some quotes on our walls.

“He sadly died of sudden cardiac arrest in the city center a few months later. We will never know if a nearby defibrillator could have saved his life. future of someone who needs it.
