Best Wishes of Bishop’s Waltham Wins Local Retail Award

AN INDEPENDENT Specialty Card Store in Bishop’s Waltham recently won an award.

Best wishes, on Brook Street, won the Daily Echo Retailer of the Year 2021, which is one of Hampshire Chronicles sister papers.

Owner Russell Payne said: “We are absolutely delighted, especially that so many of our brilliant clients went out of their way to vote for us. We want to say a big thank you for all their loyal support.

“At first, we didn’t believe it. It is simply awesome and beyond all expectations.

Founded in 2011 by Russell and Yvonne Payne, the company quickly became a thriving part of the community and was quickly on the trail of awards. Within 18 months of opening, it was shortlisted for an award at the Retas, also known as the Oscars of the Greeting Card World, among other accolades.

Local residents unable to go out can take advantage of a card delivery service and customers are also offered a loyalty program, as well as a birthday card for their special day.

The store offers a wide variety of greeting cards, gifts, balloons and party supplies. From the popular “Tatty Teddy” grizzly bears to helium foil, bubbles and large shaped balloons, the store has something to offer for any occasion.

Best Wishes of Bishop’s Waltham is the long-time sponsor of the local football team and the staff organize the nursery during the town’s annual Christmas party as well as an Easter egg hunt for 1,000 local school children.
